Changes at Dad Daily

Formerly a Digg-esque fatherhood news aggregator, Dad Daily is to become ‘a social network exclusively for dads’:

‘The site is being developed to use the latest Web 2.0 features such as blogs, photo/music/video uploading, profiles and degrees of relationship so that dads can interact socially. In addition, however, social news and knowledge leveraging will be prominent aspects of the site.

In a twist to common social networking features, Dad Daily will focus on bringing valuable services to dads as time goes on. At the moment, there are plans to have classified ads, job postings, product reviews and even a lending exchange…’

Eerily enough, Art’s post coincides with a Marketplace report on the future of social networking sites, which may ‘ultimately focus on smaller niche markets as competition heats up’.
